The RSPCA is appealing for help after two horses were found with stab wounds in a field in West Yorkshire.
The two cob-type horses were stabbed in a field on Onward Way in South Kirkby, Pontefract on Monday 16 May. They are both expected to make a full recovery from their injuries.
The RSPCA was called by a member of the public who spotted the horses early the following morning.
RSPCA inspector Joanne Taylor said: “This was a despicable act of violence against two horses.
“There was blood all down the chest and legs of the stallion. He had been stabbed in the face and in the rear hind area.
“The mare had also been stabbed in the face and had a slash across her rear hind area.
“This was a deliberate attack and we want to bring the person responsible before a court.
“Please, if you saw anything and thing you might be able to help, call us now.”
