If you’ve always wanted to try your hand at a chukka or two, here’s your chance.

The Beaufort Polo Club is offering 48 Horse & Hound magazine readers the chance to attend one of two polo days in July – a great opportunity to rub shoulders withthe elite of the polo world and try your hand at a new challenge.

The day begins with morning coffee in the club house before an introduction to the sport, including basics of polo riding, perfecting strokes on a wooden horse and an introduction to the rules plus game tactics.

The morning session will finish with the chance for readers to take part in an introductory chukka before enjoying a champagne reception and three-course lunch.

The afternoon will be spent picking up more tipsfrom the professionals as you watch a medium-goal match from your seat in the stand, before the prize-giving and afternoon tea in the club house.

Tickets for the polo day cost £185, including instruction, provision of ponies, lunch with wine, daymembership of the polo club, plus a Horse & Hound polo shirt and certificate to commemorate your day.

There is the option of attending either the Animal Health Trust Day on Friday, 6 July in the presence of Princess Anne or the SPARKS day on Saturday, 14 July, in the presence of Princess Michael of Kent.
