As a tasty teaser for War Horse fans, the poster of the forthcoming Hollywood film has been released.
The movie adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s 1982 novel is directed by Steven Spielberg and is due for release in the UK on 13 January 2012.
And the film, which follows the journey of a young man Albert and his horse Joey in World War One, is already early favourite to win the “Best Picture” award at next year’s Oscars.

As well as being directed by Speilberg, the film has a host of top names involved. The screenplay has been written by Lee Hall and Richard Curtis and it stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Emily Watson, David Thewlis, Jeremy Irvine and Tom Hiddleston.
The stage play of War Horse, which has been a big hit on Broadway and the West End, also opens in Toronto next February – with the puppets for the show currently being shipped from the factory in South Africa to Canada.
