John Russell of the Gartconnel Welsh Mountain Pony Stud, Glasgow, died on Thursday, 25 August.
John was a former chairman of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society, a judge and respected breeder of Welsh ponies.
He judged the section As at the Royal Welsh Show (19-20 July) and his stallion Gartconnel Shooting Star was best of breed at Olympia last year.
