The UK equestrian sponsorship round-up

  • Lottie Fry has become the latest young dressage star to be sponsored by TopSpec.

Lottie said: “Gaining support from TopSpec is fantastic and a real boost on the feed and nutrition side and I am delighted they have joined my team of sponsors.

“Dressage horses have to feel well and receive the very best nutrition to perform at the highest level.

“Thanks to TopSpec I am now confident their individual feed regimes are what they require both physically and mentally whether training at home or heading to a major competition.”

Black Country Saddles has announced 2 new sponsorship deals in the showing world.

Robert Walker and Jo Bates will now both be supported by the company.

John Hartley from Black Country Saddles said: “Robert is the ultimate showman and recognises the importance saddles play not only in the looks and impression when in the show ring, but also when it comes to allowing horses and ponies to move at their very best.”

Mr Hartley added: “Jo is extremely hard working, produces horses to perfection and we are delighted she has joined the Black Country Saddles team of sponsored riders and producers.”

Robert said: “The Black Country Saddles range is absolutely superb and we are delighted to have them joining our fantastic team of sponsors.”

Jo said: “I am very pleased to have gained the support of Black Country Saddles. The team has many years’ experience when it comes to fitting and making bespoke saddles and their sponsorship is invaluable.”

Equine insurance specialist Amlin Plus has increased the prize money for CIC2* class at Brightling Park Horse Trials. (12-13 July)

The total prize pool is now £7,000 with £2,500 going to the winner.

David Ashby, managing director of Amlin Plus said: “The lack of prize money in eventing is something that has caused much comment. Having event horses myself, and speaking regularly with riders and owners, I think it is near impossible for a professional rider to actually make a reasonable living in the sport nowadays, other than through horse dealing. Hopefully this sponsorship will ensure a good number of starters, and that the winner will feel their efforts have been rewarded properly.”
