Equine law firm Henmans LLP in merger

  • Equine specialist law firm Henmans will merge with a national company in a £50 million tie up.

Oxford-based Henmans LLP specialises in giving legal advice to horse owners and equine businesses. It announced earlier this month (8 October) that it will join up with Freeth Cartwright to create an integrated group with 629 staff and 10 offices nationwide.

Malcolm Sadler, a senior partner at Henmans, said: “This merger presents us with an opportunity to expand our client base across the country. By combining our resources, Henmans and Freeth Cartwright will become a key player among the UK’s top law firms.

“This is a very exciting time for Henmans and we very much look forward to the opportunities this merger will provide.”

Peter Smith, chief executive at Freeth Cartwright, added: “This merger is a major step forward for both firms in achieving our long term strategic objectives and strengthens the services we are able to offer our clients.”

Henmans will remain a separate entity and will re-brand as Henmans Freeth once the merger has completed.
