    How to get there

East of Nottingham, three miles from the A52/A46 roundabout.

    What the organisers say

Shelford has flat and level dressage areas. The showjumping, designed by Beau Wood, is held in a large arena on well-draining ground on old turf.

The cross-country runs over flat terrain and includes water and some woodland.

The ground is light and sandy and will stand up to heavy rain. It is good in both dry and wet conditions. Fences are a mix of permanent and portable, designed to be inviting and encouraging for all levels.

The courses will regularly change route and direction to provide variety at each event. They are designed to encourage all levels. Reduced grazing in 2015 will allow good grass cover at both events.

    What the riders say

Dressage & showjumping — “Dressage warm-up and arenas adjacent to the lorry park with plenty of room and good going.” “Super flat arenas although it can get firm, being on relatively new pasture.” “The showjumping is well built and in a good arena with plenty of room for warm-up.” “Held in the middle of tradestands.” “Organisation is slick on a very compact site.”

Cross-country — “The course is on flat terrain, but this year was not great for an inexperienced horse as the course went away and then came back past the start.” “The ground was a bit firm, but the fences are well built.” “Educational tracks that make good use of limited space.” “The courses are generally different every time as a lot of fences are portable.”
