    About Barbury International Horse Trials

    The St. James’s Place Wealth Management Barbury International Horse Trials takes place from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 July on the Barbury Castle Estate just outside Marlborough, Wiltshire. It features four days of equestrian excellence attracting some of the world top riders. The prestigious CIC3* competition culminates on Sunday with the cross-country phase running in reverse order of placing, so you can be sure of a nail-biting conclusion.

    Some facts and figures about the Barbury International Horse Trials:

    • 11 years of eventing and equestrian excellence
    • Four days of competition including novice, CIC2*/CIC3* and British Showjumping classes
    • More than 1,150 horse and rider combinations making it the largest international horse trials in the UK (on competitors)
    • Andrew Nicholson and Avebury have won the CIC 3 star competition three times in a row. Can they make it four this year?
    • Four teams comprising 16 riders and horses will take part in the JCB Champions Challenge (Sat 11 July) including AP McCoy riding in public for first time since retiring
    • Recommended as one of Horse & Hound’s Best of British days out
    • Set in 1,850 acres of stunning Wiltshire countryside and within an area of outstanding natural beauty
    • More than 50 shops featuring fashions, arts and crafts and equestrian products
