Meet the SEIB Search for a Star riding club show horse finalists

  • The first of two riding club show horses tickets up for grabs at Wellington went to Gewluna, (pictured) owned and ridden by Heather Giles.

Heather has owned the 9-year-old grey mare for four years. They do a bit of everything including beach rides, dressage and hunt with the Vale of Aylesbury.

“We would like to breed from her eventually as she is such a good sort”, says Heather.

“Search For A Star is brilliant as it gives amateurs with horses like mine, a chance to qualify for HOYS and it is lovely that we can compete at a show of this level”.

Perdie Reid took the remaining ticket for this class with her 7 year old 17.2hh grey gelding, Blizzard III.

“He is so easy to do and a pleasure to take out”, says Perdie, who is helped by her mother at shows. “He won a ridden hunter class at a local show, but we didn’t know what he would make of this — he was brilliant!

“Getting to HOYS has been an eternal ambition of mine as I was never able to qualify for this show with my old working hunter, who is now 22,” said Perdie.
