The FEI’s Junior and Young Rider European Championships are held every year in dressage, showjumping and eventing.
Juniors are open to riders aged 14 to 18, while Young Riders are aged 16 to 21 years old. Juniors and Young Riders have to ride horses (over 148cm) rather than ponies.
Riders aged between 12-16 on ponies (officially measured at 148cm and under) have their own Pony European Championships in all three sports.
There is also Children on Horses Europeans for riders aged 12-14 riding horses exceeding 148cm in dressage and jumping, but not eventing.
For dressage riders aged under-25, there are annual European Championships, while a new under-25s eventing World Championships has been introduced, with the inaugural event being held in Millstreet, Ireland in 2026.
