Five show jumpers have been selected to represent Britain at the World Equestrian Games

Five show jumpers have been chosen to represent Britain at the World Equestrian Games, with the team of four to be picked after the Nations Cup show in Gijon, Spain (28 August-1 September).

The riders with the task of qualifying for a place in the top five teams and so ensuring Britain’s participation at the Athens Olympics are:

• Di Lampard (Abbervail Dream),
• Mark Armstrong (Elise),
• Scott Smith (Cabri D’Elle),
• Tim Stockdale (Fresh Direct Parcival)
• William Funnell (Cortaflex Amber Du Montois).
