New SJ series for south-east


  • Local show jumpers to compete for £1,000 at South of England Show in June

    Riders in the south-east have a new grade C competition to look forward to this season, with a £1,000 final atthe South of England Show on Saturday, 8 June 2002.

    The Stevenson Jewellers & Gatwick Group Top Score Challenge will allow local riders to compete in the South of England’s main arena in front of their home crowd.

    The top three from each qualifier will compete for a total prize of £1,000 at the final. The qualification is for grade C horse and rider combinations and is restricted to two horses per rider.

    The qualification series has already started at Ardingly, with more chances to make the final at Royal Leisure (3 & 17 February), Crockstead (1 April), Pyecombe (10 & 12 May), Golden Cross (19 May) and Felbridge (26 May).

    R & R Stevenson Jewellers sponsors various show jumping and eventing classes in the area, including a Sussex Show jumpers/Eventers Challenge with a final at Golden Cross on 23 June.
