Farewell to showjumping personality Frank Kernan


  • Northern Irish breeder and showjumping personality Frank Kernan died on 11 February, at the age of 78.

    He was the owner-breeder of the stallion Touchdown, who was jumped at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics by his son James.

    Also a former professional footballer for Armagh, Mr Kernan supplied top horses to David Broome and Harvey Smith, including Harvey’s 1970 and 1971 Hickstead Derby winner Mattie Brown and David’s 1972 King George V Gold Cup winner Sportsman.
