  • Kings Warrior

    Kings Warrior, three-times show hunter of the year, died peacefully on Monday at the age of 21.

    The Joli Coeur middleweight claimed the HOYS title in 1991, ’92 and ’94 and the Royal International championship in 1991, ’93 and ’94, as well as countless supremes.

    Robert Oliver, who produced him throughout his career, said: “He was a wonderful horse. He came out as a five-year-old and for about five seasons won just about everything there was to win.”

    Robert also field mastered the Ledbury off Kings Warrior.

    Douglas Kelow

    Leading showman and judge Douglas Kellow died last week. He was 87.

    During a career spanning over 60 years, Douglas produced numerous top horses from his base in Cornwall and won many championships.

    Douglas’s children, David and Diane, also enjoyed much success in the ring.

  • Regal Max, one of the top show hunters of the 1990s, has been put down following complications after colic surgery. He was 19.
