Spillers Facebook fans help feed needy horses

  • Horse lovers can now help feed needy horses and ponies through Facebook.

Feed manufacturers Spillers will donate 1kg of feed to Redwings Horse Sanctuary for every new fan it achieves on its Team Spillers Facebook page.

Spillers are long-standing supporters of equine charity Redwings.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Spillers and their Facebook fans will be supporting us like this,” said Redwing’s Nicola Markwell.

“As a charity we rely entirely on support from the public and 1kg of feed can amount to a meal or even a day’s feed for one of our smaller residents, so every fan will make a huge difference.”

To kick off the campaign Spillers has already donated more than two tonnes of feed to the charity for the 2,000 plus Facebook fans who are already Team Spillers members.

Redwings has more than 1,100 horses, ponies and donkeys and eight centres around the UK.

Sarah Kitson, from Spillers said: “Redwings do a wonderful job rescuing neglected and unwanted horses and ponies to give them a second chance in life. We are so pleased to be able to help horse lovers to support them in such a practical way.”

To make your feed donation all you need to do is visit the Team Spillers page on Facebook and click “like”.

And as a fan you will also have the chance to win a fabulous £500 shopping spree at your local saddlery.
