Rory Bremner judges fancy-dress class

  • Comedian Rory Bremner used all his skills when judging at the Old Berks Hunt Supporters’ Club show at Uffington, where he presided over the fancy-dress class.

The children’s class was suddenly overwhelmed with mothers eager to lead their perfectly capable offspring’s ponies as news filtered through that a certain Mr Bremner would be in the judge’s seat.

Appropriately, Rory chose a winner with showbiz links — a “Yellow Brick Road” ensemble from The Wizard of Oz.

“Rory was walking around singing all the songs from the film,” said hunt secretary Sylvia Cox.

“He was really good with the children — great fun.”

The show was extremely popular, with more than £1,000-worth of pre-entries, a percentage of which will be donated to charity.

Ms Cox added: “Rory chatted to all the children and mums. His two daughters, Ava, 7, and Lila, 5, are members of the Old Berks Hunt Pony Club.”
