Jeanette Allen is the new chief executive of welfare charity The Horse Trust.
Previously CEO of the MedicAlert Foundation, she has worked for the NSPCC and was a fund-raiser for Barts Hospital.
Ms Allen is a keen rider with “a passion for animal welfare”.
She succeeds Brig Paul Jepson.
