Help to beat horsebox thieves

South Essex Insurance Brokers has launched a Vehicle Data Check service in a bid to reduce the risk of people buying a horsebox previously written off or stolen. The move followed its partnership with insurer Royal & Sun Alliance to commission an in-depth investigation into horsebox theft.

The scheme, whose information is also available at police stations, provides a detailed history of the vehicle, was originally available only to SEIB clients but is now open to everyone.

Included in the history produced by the Vehicle Data Check is mileage verification, details of any outstanding finance, previous keepers and information on colour and plate changes.

It also ensures that the horsebox has not been previously written off or stolen.The service will cost £10, which will be refunded to owners who then insure the vehicle through South Essex Insurance Brokers.
