Two horses fail first horse inspection at Badminton Horse Trials

  • TWO horses failed the first horse inspection this afternoon at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials and one was withdrawn from the holding box.

Super Rocky, the ride of Brazilian first-timer Marcelo Tosi, and Hannah Bate’s ride Valdemar were both eliminated by the ground jury when they were re-presented, having been sent to the holding box on first inspection.

Lea Ryder withdrew Deltry Salute from the holding box.

Georgie Spence’s first ride Birthday Night was also sent to the holding box, but passed on re-inspection.

The first competitor in the dressage tomorrow will be William Fox-Pitt on last year’s Luhmuhlen winner Macchiato at 9.30am. The guinea pig rider, Laura Collett on Rayef, will perform the test at 9.10am for the ground jury to get their eye in and check all the systems are working correctly.
