The 25th anniversary of Poplar Park Horse Trials (8-9 March) saw Piggy French turn the tables on her partner Oliver Townend after his victory at Isleham the previous week.
Having finished second there, Piggy relegated Oliver and his team horse Flint Curtis to the runner-up spot when claiming the advanced intermediate (AI) on Boherdeel Champion. Oliver Townend also finished third on Clover Curtis.
The experienced partnership of 22-year-old rider Amy Young and Highville won the open intermediate (OI) section and now have plans to travel to Saumur. Piggy took second on Cast Away II, ahead of Emily Gilruth and Ashdale Cruise Master in third.
ODT Raphael made his first intermediate attempt a winning one to give Piggy her second victory of the day. Sarah Cohen and Trebetherick finished second, with Sharon Hunt winning a pair of crystal goblets as best-placed Suffolk rider when finishing third with Charmed.
