European Pony eventing squad announced
The final British Pony eventing squad for the European Championships at Verjer de la Frontera, in southern Spain, has been confirmed.
Five pony/rider combinations and one reserve were selected from the shortlist of 11, following a rigorous selection weekend hosted and sponsored by Stonar School in Wiltshire at the end of June.
The squad includes:

Holly Lemkewith Briggview Bishops Gem
Millie Vincentwith Harry Hotshot

Holly Wright with Mariusons Image was originally selected for the team but an injury has forced them to withdraw.
The squad boasts considerable experience, with four of the five ponies selected having represented Britain previously, notching up five medals between them.
Jamie was a member of last year’s British team while Harriet’s ride, Millbrook Ifor, has successfully competed at the championship with a previous rider. The team also includes the former European Champion Harry Hotshot, who will be ridden this year by Millie.
The ponies will be leaving for Spain on 19 July following squad concentration at Stonar School from 14 to 18 July.
Wrexham based Charles Owen will be supplying squad members with protective headwear for each phase, plus gloves and body protectors specially manufactured in the British team colours. For a third year running, leading equine leg protection manufacturers NEW Equine Wear will also be supporting the squad by providing horse boots for travelling, show jumping and cross-country.
