Andrew Nicholson wins Punchestown CCI***
Andrew Nicholson won the CCI*** at the Irish Horse Board Punchestown International Three-Day Event on Silbury Hill by just 0.8pen from Oliver Townend and Flint Curtis. Andrew also finished third on Armada.
The only show jumping clear round inside the time propelled Matthew Wright up from 22nd after dressage to fourth on Another Cavalier, who was tackling his first three-star. Niall Griffin and Lorgaine dropped down the order to fifth after hitting five fences, and Michael Ryan finished sixth on Old Road.
Ireland’s Michael Ryan won the Failte Ireland/Irish Horse Board CCI**, ahead of Oli Townend and Jackson D’Allez. Paul Tapner’s good season continued with third place on Stormhill Michael, while Andrew Nicholson was fourth on Stormhill Kossack.
Matthew Wright wn the CLG Developments/Irish Horse Board CCI* on a horse purchased only two days before the event, Noisette Des Pres. Young rider Eliza Preston finished second on her part-Connemara Soft Touch.
