NAGS Club bulletin: 13 February

  • Made by grooms,for grooms

  • Helen Galbraith, groom to top show jumper Michael Whitaker, has developed a range of custom-made grooming boxes which are ideal for individuals working on a busy yard.

Helen says: “We use them at our yard and I realised that people are crying out for good-quality, strong grooming boxes that also look nice in the stables.”

The boxes are hand-made to order and come in a choice of teak, dark oak, deep mahogany and antique pine finishes.

Brush boxes cost £35, trunks boxes are £45 and grooming boxes retail at £100. The trunk and grooming boxes can be locked, making them a safer way to store yard equipment.

For more information, contact Helen (tel: 07798 635307).

    Retail apprentice scheme

  • The Blacup Training Group’s equine retail apprenticeship scheme has enjoyed a successful start.

Steven Place of Blacup says: “We have just placed our first six candidates into modern apprenticeship placements in saddleries throughout Suffolk and Yorkshire and are very happy about it.”

There are vacancies throughout the country and anyone interested in applying for a place on this scheme, or the horse care management scheme, can visit www.blacuptraining.co.uk
