Meet the SEIB Search for a Star cob finalists

  • The Grenadier (pictured) qualified for the cob section of Search for a Star at Osbaldeston with Stacey Buckley, an NHS worker from Failsworth, Manchester.

The Buckley’s re-homed The Grenadier’s mother, who was destined for the abattoir, when he was a tiny foal at foot. They named after Stacey’s grandfather who was in The Grenadier Guards.

“Stacey has such a special bond with Grenadier; he is a once in a lifetime horse,” says Stacey’s mother, Julie.

Tully’s Brady, an Irish Draught ridden by Alexie Kirby, picked by the second HOYS ticket.

“We went to Ireland to buy him as a birthday present for our daughter, Alexie and as soon as we saw him, we knew that he was the one,” said Victoria Kirby.
