Primary school deputy head teacher, Kathleen Botting claimed her place at HOYS with her 7-year-old coloured cob gelding, Bristol Blue, at Towerlands.
Bristol Blue has also qualified for the RIHS. “He is placed at every County level outing in working cob classes. He needs a 3-min warm up and that’s it. He really is a superstar!” says his owner, Kathleen.
The other cob to qualify from Towerlands was Romero, ridden by Nina Woollard. Romero is owned by Essex Horse & Pony Protection Society and was fostered by Nina as a yearling.
“He was really easy to back and takes all challenges in his stride,” she said.
