Meet Sally Leach – hunt groom

Twenty-nine-year-old Sally Leach works as groom to Master of Foxhounds Jane Glover in Great Bridgeford, Stafford.

Having gained her grooms’ certificate at Ingestre Stables, she went on to work for Lynne Hartley, looking after a yard of countylevel show hunters and youngstock.

Sally competed several of her charges in young event horse classes at Badminton and Gatcombe. “I produced and sold some well-balanced, well-educated nice young horses,” she says.

Nowadays she spends her time keeping the hunters fit and healthy all winter and producing youngsters during the summer ready for the following season.
