H&H sneak preview: Carl Hester and Pippa Funnell
Horse & Hound brings you exclusive website-only pictures of five-times British National Dressage champion Carl Hester and Rolex Grand Slam champion Pippa Funnell enjoying a canter near Carl’s Gloucestershire base on Badminton Sunday.
The pair got together to be photographed by David Miller for Horse & Hound’s feature on natural riders — who are they and how to spot them.
The feature, published in this week’s issue of Horse & Hound (out tomorrow, Thursday 24 May) is a must-read for anyone who has wondered how much natural ability comes in to play when riding and competing horses, how to spot it, and how much can still be achieved through sheer hard work by those of us not blessed with it.
Carl took a break from commentating on Radio Badminton and Pippa took a break from joining the BBC TV commentary team to fit in the photo shoot on the final morning of the horse trials. Both hot-footed back to Badminton to watch Lucinda Fredericks and Headley Britannia claim the 2007 title.
