The validity of 22-year-old event rider Cressida Clague Reading’s victory in the novice championship at Gatcombe’s Doubleprint Festival of Eventing earlier this month is being investigated by British Eventing.
Cressida is being interviewed at Stoneleigh today (Tuesday 12 August) regarding allegations that her horse, the 10-year-old gelding, James, was not eligible to run either in the novice regional final necessary to qualify for the championship, or in the novice championship itself.
Cressida made her Badminton debut in 2002, and is a former gold medal-winning member of Britain’s junior and young rider eventing teams.
