Atlantic show jumping tour — week one

  • Britain’s riders at the first show of Portugal’s Atlantic Tour had plenty to celebrate, including wins in both grands prix. Sophie Tobin and Orion II won the six-horse grand prix jump-off ahead of Paul Barker and Blue Chip Quinton.

There were six other major British victories. Paul headed a jump-off class on Temple Guess What, while Graham Lovegrove and Geoff Luckett enjoyed two and three wins respectively.

Scotland’s Lindsay Babes was a treble winner in the amateur classes, finishing with victory in the grand prix on Micky Bo, narrowly ahead of team-mate Hannah Mousley on Paola II.

Chris Moyce was in good form in the young horse classes with a win on the opening day with Amor Van Het Lindehof and victory in a jump-off class with Toronto. John Popely was also at the head of line in a six-year-old jump-off class on Mr Darcy.
