Are these the world’s most unusual horse portraits?

  • Many of us would give our right arm to be able to gaze out of the livingroom window and see our horse munching merrily in the field.

But if this is always going to be just a pipe dream, artist Wendy Ann Stanger has another solution.

She is bringing people’s horses into their homes by creating portraits
using their mane, tail and coat hair.

Wendy uses dried flowers and animal hair to create her masterpieces. She embeds the hair into pure silk fibres to make a papery surface, which she then stitches onto the artwork.

I don’t think any other artist offers this service and it makes a lovely gift for any owner or horse lover,” said Wendy, who works from emailed photos taken by the owner and hair sent through the post.

    Prices start from £150.
