Monmouthshire wins national mounted games title


  • Monmouthshire open mounted games team are the new British champions after stealing the title from 2010 winners Shropshire in a fast and furious run-off at Olney Park Equestrian Centre (29 August).

    The highest qualifying teams from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland competed in 10 relay races to decide the top team in Britain.

    The Monmouthshire team consists of Jack Capel, Mark Devitt, April Wilson, Ulrika Alexanderson and Danny Spencer.

    They also claimed the jackpot prize-fund of more than £1,000 at Glanusk Horse Trials (30 June-3 July).
