Ian Stark says: “Thank you to everyone for their good wishes”
Ian Stark has expressed his thanks for the good wishes he has received since being taken ill 10 days ago.
Ian was yesterday transferred from Cardiff to Borders General Hospital in Melrose, to allow him to recover from a brain bleed closer to home.
Ian’s daughter Steph told H&H: “Dad says a big thank you to people. He has received so many calls and texts from everyone sending their best wishes and hoping he gets well soon.
“He is very grateful to everyone.”
The Olympic event rider, trainer and course builder suffered a brain bleed on Sunday, 9 August while driving to a teaching session near Pembroke.
The 55-year-old was overcome by a blinding headache and called himself an ambulance.
Yesterday, Steph said her father was still suffering from bad headaches but recovering well.

Although doctors still haven’t established the cause of the bleed to his brain, they believe Ian Stark will ride again.
“They will do further tests in a couple of weeks, and if those are ok, he should be able to carry on pretty much as normal,” said Steph.
“The hard thing will be to get him to take things slowly while he recovers.”
