    Tester’s comments

A good pair of reins is important as I own a very strong cob and have been unlucky enough to experience a rein snapping while out hacking.

I need a strong pair of reins to help me hold Thomas and the Extra Rubbered Grip reins from Fieldhouse were ideal, as they were thick, without being too chunky in my hands.

I don’t like thin reins and these felt reassuringly solid in my hands, especially when Thomas took a pull.

I don’t like wearing gloves and the rubber was comfortable to hold without a pair on. On long rides when he got sweaty or in the rain, the rubber maintained its grip.

The reins were slightly lighter in colour than the rest of my bridle, but this is probably because the bridle is older. Had I bought a new bridle from Fieldhouse to go with the reins they would have matched.

Verdict: I would definitely buy another pair of these reins
