Product test: Cosy short riding boots

  • We test Equitector’s new Chill Master Riding Boots, which were highly commended at this year’s BETA new product awards

    Equitector’s Chill Master Riding Boots

This new riding boot has a waterproofed soft leather outer with a “bellow” tongue to prevent water from seaping in around the laces.

Designed to keep active feet at body temperature in all weathers, the boots have an “insulative” lining, designed for use in cold storage facilities.

As with all Equitector boots, the Chill Master has an integral steel toe cap to protect your toes while handling your horses.

The boots also feature Equitector’s “Easy Rider Balance System”, which helps keep the foot secure in the stirrup, a steel shank arch support and an 8mm thick sole.

Available in half sizes from size 3 to 8.

    Cost at around £70.

    Tester’s comments

“These boots have kept my feet warm and dry in all weathers throughout the winter,” said tester Rebecca Pattenden.

“The steel toecaps made me feel really confident around my friend’s 17.2hh warmblood, who loves to stand on my toes. The boots wereheavier than my normal footwear and my calves ached until I got used to the extra weight.

“Soft leather around the ankle made the boots really comfortable to wear, but I found them a bit chunky for daily riding.

“All in all I would describe the Chillmaster boots as great for keeping your feet warm and dry in all weathers.”
