Michael Whitaker claimed victory in Amsterdam this weekend in the BCM Grand Prix. Partnering the nine-year-old chestnut mare, Quidame des Hayettes, Whitaker jumped a double clear to finish over a second faster than runner-up Marielle Schroeder from the Netherlands. Harry Smolders took third place.
Whitaker demonstrated top form recently when his perfomance at Gotenberg two weeks ago secured him a place at the FEI World Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (26-30 April). The veteran champion, who finished runner-up in last year’s championships, will be representing Britain along with British Open Champion Robert Smith.
