The closing date for applications for the Show Jumping Supporters Club’ annual bursary has been extended to 15 August.
Committee member, Anara Hibberd, says: “In normal years the club has hospitality stands at many of the big shows. But because of cancellations, it hasn’t had as much time to advertise the bursary.”
“The £1,000 bursary goes to someone who will help benefit the sport and further their career. The club will want to know what the applicants have done, what they hope to achieve , what direction they hope to go in and what they will use the money for.”
In past years, the bursary has gone to young riders, but the winner doesn’t necessarily have to be a rider – they could be a trainer or someone else involved in the sport.
As well as hospitality stands, the club also organises trips abroad to big shows and arranges stables visits to top showjumping yards.
