The leading rider in the international classes at this year’s Horse of the Year Show at the NEC, Birmingham (17-21 September) will receive a special prize.
The rider who gains the most points during the 13 international classes will be presented with a new “WOW” saddle worth £1350, courtesy of First Thought Equine.
“It is often the case that some riders perform consistently well throughout all the classes but do not necessarily win one or more of the major titles,” says Grandstand’s Mike Gill.
“This prize is in recognition of the top rider who, during the four days of international competition has been most competitive. We are delighted that First Thought Equine are supporting Horse of the Year Show in this way.”
All of the leading rider presentations will be made during the Gala Night performance on Sunday 21 September, which will be attended by a host of celebrities from the worlds of entertainment and sport.
Natural horsemanship at HOYS
It has also been announced that there will be a special demonstration of Parelli Natural Horsemanship at this year’s show. It is to take place in the Horse & Hound Arena on the morning of Saturday 20 September.
The Parelli technique teaches people to understand horses through a step-by-step programme that breaks down into building blocks using the horses’ own language through a series of seven games.
