HOYS wild cards for Robert Bevis and Georgie Strutton

  • Two of the wildcard places for the international show jumping classes at this year’s Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) were secured last weekend (7-9 September).

Robert Bevis and Georgie Strutton won their places after some fierce competition at Rowallan Activity Centre in Ayrshire.

The two remaining wildcard places will be contested at Unex Towerlands (21-24 September).

The four will join the 10 leading British riders — who automatically qualify — to chase a prize-fund of more than £100,000.

Other highlights of the show — which takes place at the NEC Arena, Birmingham (3-7 October) — include the Metropolitan Police activity ride and, for the first time, a quadrille featuring Dutch dressage riders on Friesian horses.

For information and to book tickets for the show, visit www.hoys.co.uk or (tel: 08700 101052).
