H&H show jumping writer Ann Martin dies


  • Ann Martin, who for many years reported on major show jumping events for Horse & Hound died on 24 March after a long illness.

    Ann, a World Champion archer in her Oxford University days, also bred and showed winning in-hand hunters and was the best-selling author of several equestrian books.

    She was awarded the Ryan’s Son Trophy — decided by members of the Whitaker family — at Olympia in 2004 for her services to show jumping.

    Her funeral will take place on 10 April at Mid-Warwickshire Crematorium, Wellesbourne, at 2.30pm. For more details, contact (tel: 01295 680251).
