The International Affairs Committee of the BSJA has announced that following riders are on the long-list for the 2001 European Show Jumping Championships to be held in Arnhem in The Netherlands from 27 – June – 1 July.

- Tim Stockdale
- William Funnell
- Mark Armstrong
- Michael Whitaker
- Di Lampard
- Andrew Davies
- Carl Edwards
- Robert WhitakerThe final selection will be announced on 18 June when four riders from the above list will be selected for the British team.The programme of events at Arnhem is
- Thursday 28 June: Opening Ceremony and first European Championships competition
- Friday 29 June: Team Championship
- Sunday 1 July: Individual Championship
