  • The BSJA has appointed former British showjumper, Derek Ricketts, as its international team manager

Former international showjumper, Derek Ricketts, has been appointed team manager by the British Show Jumping Association for Britain’s international showjumpers.

Derek, 52, was nominated the “preferred choice” by team members at a “crisis” meeting held at the July Hickstead meeting about its international performance.

Jacky Wood, chief executive of the BSJA, said: ” I am delighted to welcome Derek Rickets as World Class Performance Manager.

“He brings a wealth of experience from those halcyon days of Bradley, Broome, Pyrah and Ricketts, who were rarely out of the winners’ enclosure.

His appointment is funded by the National Lottery, through UK Sport’s and the British Equestrian Federation’s World Class Performance Plan.
