An audience with It’s Otto

  • He may have officially retired, but It’s Otto is still impressing audiences in a series of lecture demonstrations accompanied by Geoff Billington

It’s Otto and Geoff Billington will still be playing to the crowds in a series of lecture demonstrations.

The 16-year-old Dutch gelding, famous for his white face, had a prolific show jumping career that saw him narrowly miss winning an Olympic medal. He wasretired at Olympia last year and Geoff was determined he would go out at the top, rather than continue jumping in smaller classes.

Geoff and It’s Otto will be at Frogpool Manor in Chislehurst, Kent on Tuesday 11 June. The demonstration starts at 7.30pm and Geoff will talk riders through training show jumpers from novice to Grade A. Also covered will be course walking and tips for riding in competitions.

“There will two show offs appearing at Frogpool on the 11th, It’s Otto and me,” said Geoff. “He is kept ticking over at home with plenty of hacking and if the weather is nice he goes out for a couple of hours. He loves going out in the lorry and enjoys playing to a crowd.”

Tickets are available in advance from Frogpool Manor priced at £15, tickets will also be available on the door for £18. The shop will stay open until 7.30pm when the demonstration begins and will be refreshments available throughout the evening.
