The Irish Draught on show


  • The 16th Irish Draught Horse Society National Show will be held on Saturday, 28 July at Necarne Castle, Co Fermanagh.

    A new feature of the show is the Irish Draught Mare of the Future, whose£2,000 prize-fund is sponsored by Pfizer Animal Health. This class is for three- and four-year-old mares registered as RID and covered by, or with foal-at-foot by, an RID stallion.

    The show also has in-hand classes for Irish Draught mares, foals and young stock, plus the Farmlay stallion exhibition.

    The Northern Ireland Horse Board ridden section has hunter and working hunter classes for pure and part-bred Irish Draughts. The Ballinteggart Stud dressage classes are also open to horses withat least one RID parent.

    Admission to the show is £3 per adult, with free car parking and free entry for children.
