Sad farewell to former HOYS winner Heaton Oscar


  • Successful mini show pony of the 1990s Heaton Oscar has died, at the age of 22.

    Oscar was twice winner of the first ridden pony of the year title at the Horse of the Year Show, in 1993 and 1994, and won more than 300 classes during his career with the Swinburn family of Beamish in Co Durham.

    Bred by Julie Perrins in Yorkshire, he was by Shimpling Oscar out of Katrina of Kirkhamgate.
