HOYS ‘points’ qualification proposal gets thumbs down from riders

Showing competitors are unhappy about proposals to change the way horses qualify to compete at the Horse of the Year Show.

In a bid to support county shows and breed societies and improve the system for competitors, Grandstand Media — organisers of the show — is considering a raft of ideas including the possibility of setting up a qualifications league.

But riders are speaking out against the plans, which are not likely to be installed for another two years.
