Former BSPS vice-chairman and show pony breeder dies


  • Show pony breeder and former British Show Pony Society (BSPS) vice-chairman Jane Waddilove, died on 25 February, aged 84.

    Mrs Waddilove, who lived in the village of Snailwell, near Newmarket, for many years, bred Pony of the Year 1972 Snailwell Charles and was a leading figure in the horseworld for more than 30 years.

    She was vice-chairman of the BSPS in the 1980s and chairman of the BSPS Championships for about 15 years in the 70s and 80s. She also judged at Horse of the Year Show.

    Mrs Waddilove’s funeral will be on Saturday, 12 March at Snailwell Church, Newmarket, at 12 noon.
