FMD crisis: HOYS qualifiers to be rescheduled


  • A number of spring qualifiers for the 2001 Horse of the Year Show have been re-scheduled due to the ongoing foot and mouth crisis.

    The West Midlands Stallion Show (14 April) has been cancelled and the HOYS qualifiers re-scheduled. TheM&M Pure Bred Ridden qualifiers will now take place at Tring Show, Hertfordshire, on 29 July. The M&M Lead Rein and M&M First Ridden qualifiers will be held during Cheshire Premier Summer Show, Merseyside, on 30 June.

    The South ofEngland Spring Show (9-12 April) has been postponed and will now run over two dates, 15 May and 22 July. The Small Show Hunter, Show Hunter Pony, Intermediate Show Hunter and Intermediate Riding Type qualifiers will be held on 22 July.

    The Newark and Nottinghamshire County Show (May 12-13) has also been cancelled. The Breeders Challenge In Hand qualifier that was due to run at this show will be rescheduled.The new date and venue will be announced shortly.

    The Royal CornwallShow (7-9 June) has been postponed until 13-15 September. All the Horse of the Year Show qualifiers scheduled for this show will now take place on the September dates.

    The CHAPS UK South East Show (29 April) has been postponed until the 22 July. The Coloured Horse and Pony Qualifiers due to run at this show are also postponed until this date.
