  • Bobbyjo, the 11-year-old that ended Ireland’s 24-year success, has died after complications following a leg injury sustained while racing at Fairyhouse in February.

    Bobbyjo, winner of the 1998 Irish National became the first Irish-trained Grand National winner since L’Escargot when ridden by Paul Carberry.

    The horse will be buried in Co Galway, the home town of his owner London publican Bobby Burke.
