In the afternoon there’ll be a family fun day at Epsom racecourse with a tug of war, Shetland pony derby, plus an “It’s a Knockout competition”.

Stephen Wallis, general manager of Epsom Downs Racecourse, said: “This is a really novel day, with something for racing enthusiasts of all ages.”

The proceeds from the day will go to the Epsom Training and Development Fund.
