Winner of Bramham Horse Trials photo competition announced
A photo of eventer Ruth Burnard by Fiona Parsons will be gracing the cover of the Bramham Horse Trials programme next year (3-6 June).
Fiona’s winning photo of Ruth and her horse Godington Haarlem jumping the barrels combination fought off competition from over 360 entries to be chosen by Bramham judges for the 2010 programme.
“The photograph is well-planned, showing almost perfect symmetry, together with absolute concentration from both horse and rider. The colours are crisp and clean, with good definition between the subject, and the background in the picture,” said a spokesman for Bramham Horse Trials.
Fiona has only recently discovered her passion for equestrian photography.
“I only got the camera 18 months ago and love taking photos wherever I go. I had a fantastic day at Bramham International Horse Trials, and I am surprised and delighted to win. I’m already looking forward to the 2010 event to take some more pictures,” she said.
Carol Stevens and Stephen Robertson, both from Leeds were named as runners-up, for their photos of Nicola Wilson and Pricewise and Pippa Funnell‘s Ensign respectively.
